      Entretien

With Glassdoor opening a new office in Chicago, the Glassdoor team was clearly on an interview frenzy. That being said, I had 4 rounds of interviews. The first was with a recruiter and included the basic rundown of my experience and interest in Glassdoor. The second was a 2 hour and 15 minute skype call with two Sales Managers and 1 Account Executive. The managers were thorough and asked some solid questions while the AE was laid back and easy to chat with. After that round I met with 2 Sales Managers at a Chicago hotel. The recruiting coordinator provided the incorrect names for my interviews and I ended up meeting with 2 different individuals. For the third interview, I met with the national sales manager of staffing who proceeded to ask me the same exact questions as my prior interview in Round 2...same order and everything as it was evident they they have a interview list of questions and just go down the line. Be prepared to answer "what gets you out of bed each day" multiple times. Pretty annoying. Also, the head of sales seemed disinterested in the interview and frequently typed on his computer to answer emails or g-chat messages...not really the best impression as it's a 2 way street fellas. For the final interview, I had a mock sales presentation of Glassdoor to 2 Sales Managers. The call began 15 minutes late and was scheduled for 30 minutes. 15 minutes into the call, one of the sales managers had to leave for another meeting. After all of this, I was offered an AE position but declined as the comp levels were too low. $45K base with $36K bonus potential and 3,000 shares of pre-ipo stock.

Thank you for sharing your interview experience with us. We are always looking for feedback and strive to improve our process, while maintaining a level of rigor that allows us hire the best and brightest candidates. You are correct - we are aggressively entering the Chicago market and were attempting to juggle dozens of candidates in a limited time frame with limited space. While we did our best to make it work, scheduling, timing, and accommodations did not always agree with us. We value your feedback and really appreciate you helping us improve! Mike Harness - Director of Sales
