      Mar.15.2024 The Gold Capsule Challenge is Nespresso’s annual event for our Employees only to promote coffee expertise and encourage employees to discover our range and have fun! This event is open to all Nespresso employees around the world. All employees get their free tasting sleeves of mystery capsules and then submit their answer by QR code, with the purpose of making everyone more familiar with the sensory profile of our coffees. The prizes really are very special. Winners of the mystery sleeve section of the competition will be invited to the local final. Then, the best representatives from all around the world will compete in Switzerland for the trophy. The final winner will win a once-in-a-life time trip to one of the countries where Nespresso coffee is farmed. Join Nespresso and Reimagine what you can become.

This event is open to all Nespresso employees around the world.       Mar.08.2024 Happy International Women's Day. At Nespresso, we know that when you empower women to reach their potential, everyone benefits. Since the establishment of our gender equality strategy in 2017, under the umbrella of the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program, we have been leveraging our peer reviewed Gender Analysis Tool to unearth opportunities for gender equality improvement in our coffee sourcing regions. In Ethiopia in particular, this work has highlighted the scale of the challenges faced: 95% of women had not finished primary school Over 50% of women had received zero education Ethiopia scores as ‘High Risk’ for women’s exposure to discrimination including gender-based violence That’s why we have developed collaborative training projects here, driving systemic change that empowers women – and also men, with both genders actively participating. These include Women's Leadership, Financial Literacy and Household Nutrition, and Safe Spaces, a learning activity for both men and women that aims to change harmful gender norms. With each training project delivered, we feel we are taking a small step to creating a coffee farming future where everyone can flourish.

The Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program is Nespresso responsible coffee sourcing program designed to ensure the continued supply of high-quality coffee while improving the livelihoods of farmers and their communities and protecting the environment. It has been developed and implemented in collaboration with The Rainforest Alliance and launched in 2003 in Costa Rica. Sustainable farm management is at its heart but it also enables the deployment of solutions for community and landscape resilience. Building on 20 years of direct relationships with farmers, we aim to continue to drive premium quality coffee sourcing, to protect coffee farmer income and human rights, and to evolve towards regenerative agriculture.       Changes in the way we get around work every day. At Nespresso, we love a good and sustainable journey to work to prepare for the day or to recharge after a long and busy week. Hence, we are excited to share practices. In line with the expectations of Switzerland, the canton of Vaud and the municipal authorities, we have introduced the Nestlé mobility plan on the Riviera. Based on a simple and flexible approach, our mobility plan encourages us all to leave our cars at home and rewards those who use alternative means of transport (walking, train or bus, bike or motorcycle, etc.) to get to the office.

The local winners will have a chance to represent their Market at the International Final in November in Switzerland. The Swiss-based brand joins an international movement of 4,500 purpose-led businesses that meet B Corp’s high standards of social and environmental responsibility and transparency – including Patagonia and The Body Shop. The announcement is a marker for the positive impact Nespresso has made in the coffee industry and beyond since the brand was founded in 1986. Key contributing elements include its unique approach to coffee sourcing – through the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program, designed in partnership with the Rainforest Alliance – its strategic alliance with Fairtrade, and the brand’s global recycling scheme for its aluminum capsules.
