Phone screen followed by a 30-minute portfolio presentation. The recruiter who contacted me was fine, pretty average phone screen asking about my work history, background, why I wanted to work for Yelp, etc. The next phase was a 30-minute portfolio presentation video call with two of their designers. The set up for the presentation was a bit weird—I didn't get a lot of info before we began and video calls are generally a little awkward/impersonal. I was asked some questions I'd not been asked before that I had to clarify which contributed to the presentation going over. The interviewers seemed a bit aloof and not really interested in selling me on the position. After that, I was sent a generic rejection email with no feedback. I've heard there's a design presentation in the next phase so part of me is glad I didn't pass to the next phase. This was one of the most impersonal interviews I've had.
