I interviewed for a senior analyst position for a data team. the interviews has three rounds - on HR screening call, one call with a director, and video interviews with 4 director/sr director, as I was in NYC to interview a position in foster city.
3 weeks after the final round, I was told by the HR in email saying that they decided to move to the offer process. Instead of telling me about the details of the compensation, the HR called me twice, asking again my salary expectation, whether I'm interviewing other companies, and all the details about my perferences of these roles, to a point that being a bit unprofessional and intrusive. I told the HR that I can only make a decision after I hear back from all the companies, which should be within 1-2 weeks. He was a bit unsatisfied that I can't make a decision right away.
Two days later, I received a system generated email, saying I'm rejected! I'm astonished that a company like Visa could do things like this. Only because I can't not make a decision right away/this role is not my 1st choice, you could withdraw an offer without calling/sening a non-automatic email? They were the ones who demanded me to have the first round interview while I was on a trip in Europe, even if I could get back to the US in the next 3 days, and the ones who kept me waiting for 3 weeks after the final round!
I ended up with a better offer with another company. That being said, I would not accept this offer even if they sent out a formal offer letter! The most unprofessional experience I've ever encountered.
