I went in store to hand in my resume, as I saw that this location was hiring. They accepted it & told me to apply online as well. About 1-2 weeks I received an e-mail inviting me to a group interview. The e-mail stated that I must wear all black and a full face of makeup (that's what the dress code is).
The group interview was fun. It was at 7pm which I found strange, but that's when the mall closes. There was about 10 of us, both males and females. We began by introducing ourselves and explaining why we wanted to work at The Body Shop (mention their morals !!!!). Then we paired off and did a 2 truths & 1 lie type of game. We also had the chance to learn about their products by some roleplay. The interview ended off by questions and discussions, in which the hiring manager explained the dress code and job procedures. She told us that she will contact us in a few days to go onto the second interview. However, she did ask me and a few other people to stay back because she wanted to quickly set a date for the second interview.
Before the second interview, the manager had already done a reference check. Again, the second interview we had to be in full dress code. This was a one on one with the hiring manager. She asked basic questions about my past experiences in retail, how I sell products, how I upsell & also provided a few scenarios to see how I would act upon them.
I was hired on the spot! After the seasonal position was over I was also asked to stay for permanent part-time & I did accept.
