4-stage process of interviewing. First one was a phone screen to talk about my background and the position. 2nd round was 1 on 1 with the hiring manager who asked a mix of technical and behavioral questions. 3rd round was a 30 minute video chat with 2 engineers that asked all technical questions. Final round was on site with a panel of 3 engineers, 1st hour was all technical and the 2nd hour was with a different set of 3 hiring managers that asked all behavioral type questions. I received an offer over the phone about 5 days after the final interview and the whole process took less than a month, mostly due to be having to schedule interviews within my school schedule.

The interview process was a little slower then I would like, but overall very relaxed. I submitted my application, which was a referral process from a friend already working in the position, in early January but didn't actually start the process for a number of weeks after that. The first step was a technical interview, mainly on web security and authentication. This was difficult, but it was to gauge my overall knowledge across a large subject area. Moving from there, I was presented with a three day project using the Salesforce platform. This was manageable and enjoyable. After the project, a second interview (both so far were web based interviews) was conducted to run through the project and review my code. No difficult questions here. The final stage was a management interview which again was very relaxed. Talking over my previous experience and giving me the chance to "sell myself" a little bit more then I had been able to up to this point. This was all rounded out with a HR call/offer in the days after. Overall friendly, welcoming, and significantly more relaxed then any other interview process I've done. Quite refreshing. I was fortunate to get offered the position, but I was forced to turn it down - the salary offered was no where near what I was expecting. It hadn't been discussed much up to this point, but becuase I knew of people already working within the department, within the same role, I knew what they were on and was expecting similar numbers. The initial offer was a full 30% lower then the minimum I was expecting, and although they did dramatically increase that over a couple of days negotiation, there wasn't enoough movement for me. Given that my experience was relevant and helpful, albeit with some gaps, I was firm with my request to be within the same ballpark of the salary I knew that were being payed, especially because I would be held to the exact same targets and standards as my peers. As a whole, I am very disappointed. Throughout the process I was getting more and more excited about the position, company, and team in Salesforce, but I also know I need to be reimbursed for my efforts. I never received a reason as to why I would be paid so much less then the people currently in the role, and was told it was down to my experience level - which they had agreed wasn't as shortcoming as they initially thought.
