HR contacted me through LinkedIn and then called me on Weekday(Wed) saying that the interview would be during the weekend and there will be 2 rounds. She also mentioned that I would receive the interview invitation by Friday. On Friday evening, I contacted her again as I had not received any invitation. She told me that the interview is confirmed and she will send the invitation by 8PM. I didn't receive any invitation. Next day, another HR called at around 10:40AM to inform that my interview is scheduled at 11 AM. I was outside so I hurried and reached my home just 5 mins back. I looged in and was waiting for the interviewer to join. The HR called and informed that interviewer is not available and we will reschedule it for next week. Again there was no mail communication nor calls the next week. After 10 days, the HR called and informed that interview will now be scheduled on Saturday 10 AM (If it was any other company I would not have entertained, but since it's Oracle I thought of going ahead). I logged in at 10AM and again was waiting for the interviewer. After waiting for 10 mins on the bridge, I mailed asking for confirmation. The HR replied after 20 mins saying that panel is not available and we will need to reschedule. At this point, I decided not to go ahead with Oracle. Around 2 hrs later, the panel himself called me and apologized for missing the interview. He informed me that he had slept late the previous night as he was working and completely forgot about the interview. (Again decided to give another chance as it was Oracle). Panel was flexible this time and he asked my availability and we decided to have the interview on Monday 10AM. He told me that he would inform the HR and invitation would be sent accordingly. There was no invitation till Monday morning and I assumed going by my past experience, they have goofed up again. The Panel called me on my mobile 15 mins earlier to the discussed time and asked if we can have the interview. I said as there was no invitation sent I assumed there won't be any interview. He again asked for my availability and we decided on a time the same day. HR called me after an hour and then he sent the invitation. The interview finally happened and it was more on scenario based questions. It looked more like an migration team. He asked me around 15 questions and I didn't answer around 5. There was no coding exercise.
Two days later, I followed up with the HR for the feedback and she informed me that they won't be going further with the interview process. I have been rejected before but usually it would be because of my coding ability. This was the first time that I had been rejected purely on scenario and theoritical questions.
To sum it up, I gave Oracle 3 chances to reject me :)
