      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Oracle (Bengaluru) en mars 2015

      Entretien

I applied online for the role of Quality Analyst 3 at Bangalore-EAST office,7th floor. (Skills: Test Automation using QTP) The Senior Manager shorltisted my profile and scheduled a telephonic screening interview. The interview was totally GENDER BIASED. He asked my technical background, info about my previous projects. Finally he asked me if I am married, what my husband does, do I have any relocation plans with my husband, if I can work without many family emotional attachments, since how many years I am married, what about kids-if I have any or plan any in near future, as their project is critical and needs lot of attention, which females cannot give according to him. Inspite of all this nonsense, since I was desperate for a job and I thought Oracle is a good company, I did not be rude and answered, I was shortlisted and called for technical round - 1. It was pure QTP questions at first (1.5 hours). I was good to be selected for technical round-2 on same day. Again, the lady interviewer asked me the same set of personal questions which the senior manager had trained her to ask me, about kid plans and other nonsense. I was offended here and said its too personal to discuss with them and I dont entertain it. In technical round 2, they grilled me for 2 hours, asked to write complex code snippets. Believe me, I myself have been an interviewer in my old company and we never judged a candidate based on bookish, mugged up knowledge. They did not care about my excellent analytical skills and commented they have doubts of my capability, after grilling me for 2 hours and making me write lengthy code snippets ! This was offending. After a week, the senior manager calls me and says he will offer me 1 more 'chance', as he feels I have the capabilities. I thought there are lakhs of candidates in Bangalore and this company has so much time to give people a second chance? LOL. Dont they have any work. I regret I went to try a second time. Technical interview-3 again they grilled me for 2+ hours, again I am asked to write lengthy code snippets, and trust me, this time I did it well and was confident I will be through. Alas, they never got back to me after that. I thank them for that as I got placed in another MNC for a Test lead role and 30% more pay than what ORACLE offered me. Oracle-if you dared to place such nonsense questions to your U.S female candidates, trust you will be SUED. Never imagined, Oracle being a a reputed company would be gender biased !

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Since how many years you are married? What about kids? What if your husband relocates to another country? Will you also travel with him? Since females have lot of emotional attachments, how will you cope up when work load is more? What does your husband do? Where does he work?
