Here's the story. The company I was working for provided managed IT services for a larger client. They lost the contract and NTT is taking over. We were told several months ago that we could expect to hear from someone from NTT regarding a "townhall" style meeting to discuss our employment status. Never had that meeting. Heard from several recruiters, however, and submitted my info to one of them. Never heard back about an interview or anything. Second contact with the recruiter he asked if I knew anyone else who was interested, I forwarded his contact info to the rest of our team. Still no word. A teammate was contacted by another NTT recruiter, he explained our situation to her, she expressed shock that no one reached out to us about transitioning over to NTT. Two days ago we find out that NTT will be taking over on 9/4 and if we haven't been contacted by them yet, it means they won't be taking us on. At that point we learn that all the team leads were hired, but none of the rank and file techs were, despite more than enough openings to go around to accommodate our entire team and then some. Not only that, but they already made a bunch of external hires, all of whom looked like they just stepped out of a homeless shelter. No answers from NTT on why none of us were given a chance, or why these scruffy looking hobos were given our jobs. After this experience I will never return another call from one of these recruiters, and there isn't enough money in the world to get me to take a job from them after the way they just shafted my teammates and me.

Manager who interviewed me asked me about Active Directory and domains even though there was no mention about it in the job description. Then when I got his questions wrong he said that he asked me easy questions and told me to get more experience somewhere else. Maybe the negative job reviews are right and I dodged a bullet thankfully.

1) How do you diagnose an issue with something like "cannot log into the domain"? Assume that the network and cables are okay, all other computers are okay, you are allowed to use only this computer, and the issue is only with this computer. Answer: Login to the computer locally and check ipconfig /all. 2) A client needs to get something printed and he is five minutes late but the printer doesn't work. How do you assist this client? Do not think too hard about this. 9 out of 10 non-IT people get this right, but 9 out of 10 IT people have non-optimal solutions.
