Disclaimer-This feedback is specifically for the St Louis location Millipore Sigma and it’s not a bitter feedback it’s an honest one! I had applied to 3 technical positions in Sales & Marketing during 2016, 2017 and 2019. On all three occasions I had multiple rounds of HR, phone screens and onsite interviews that lasted for half a day. The interview questions were a mix of technical and behavioral ones. I was well prepared for the questions and had answered to my best ability and in fact the feedback was very positive after all the onsite interviews. I had the right qualifications, experience and did all the right things during the interview still they hired an internal candidate. Since this happened thrice, I believe the entire interview process is a big HOAX! It’s in their DNA, that the St Louis site is not open to new ideas from outside candidates; it’s just easier to pick some one internally (that clearly reflects the culture of this site). They don’t have any respect for an external candidate who had put a lot of time and effort preparing! My advices to HR -Please don’t give a candidate HOPE by bringing them onsite for an interview, if you are going to hire internally.
Any person who is applying to the St Louis site should be mindful that no matter how qualified/experienced you are they would by default pick an internal candidate. Organizations like this will not progress, if they are not open to bringing in fresh ideas from an external candidates. My two cents, don't waste your time if an internal candidate has applied to the position.
