I have applied for the technology summer analyst position through my career website. Got an interview call for the first round on-campus. It was a 2:1 interview. The interviewers were very friendly and encouraging. It was mostly behavioral and attitude based. They asked me questions such as Why Goldman, the most interesting project you had worked on, my previous internship experience, How do u explain Object orineted concept to a 10 year old kid, Your favourite app on I-Phone. I cleared the first round and I was called for an on-site interview in NYC. I interviewed with 1 team consisting of 3 1:1 interviews. The first interview was completely technical. The interviewer was very very encouraging and made me feel very comfortable. Questions were fairly simple but requires a clear understanding of concepts in Object oriented programming and Databases. Questions like differences b/w overloading and overriding, virtual functions, why polymorphism, queries on Group by clause were asked. The next 2 interviews were fairly simple and behavioral and in nature. All in all it was a very good interview experience.

The process started with an online HackerRank assessment focused on mathematics and programming. The test included quantitative problem-solving questions (probability, logic, and numerical reasoning) as well as coding exercises. The programming section required writing efficient and clean solutions, with attention to time and space complexity. After passing the assessment, I was invited to complete a HireVue interview. This consisted of recorded behavioral and motivational questions. The questions focused on teamwork, problem-solving experiences, interest in technology within finance, and alignment with Goldman Sachs’ values. Overall, the process was structured and technically oriented, with a strong emphasis on both analytical skills and communication.
