Applied through a third party, which I believe is the only way to get access to that job. Was told the position only for person with oversea experience. The staffing agent is rude. They described the difficulty for overseas students in Chinese job market. Told not to resign during the 7 months' rotational period, most likely the agent will have the referral fee after permanent offer. And even said the job prefer male rather than female employee (Which happened a lot in China).
No reimbursement for flight and hotel during the interview.
Only one round on site interview. The plant manager of Tianjin did it. There was no technical question. The key parts of interview were to prove the willingness to work in the shop floor and working away from hometown. Not expecting questions like these from a company of this caliber.
They did the whole 10 candidates in one day. The interviewer looks tired during the interview, was reluctant to answer my questions. General answers were given for specific questions.
The interview only last about 20 mins.
There was no real meat in the hiring process, the employer more care about the who you are rather than what you can do.
Have not heard back about the candidacy so far, but most likely will decline even if I had an offer.
