I submitted my online application on a Wednesday , got an offer for a phone interview the next day - phone interview scheduled for the following Wednesday. Phone interview (Wednesday - 1 week after online application) lasted 8 minutes including the legal questions they ask you. They do write down your answers so you will have some quiets spots. Questions included: Why Debenhams? What can you bring to the role? What makes a good team? What would you do if the store was quiet? Name competitors and what can we learn from them? What services do we offer? Why did you want this role? She then asked me to hold and let me know about a minute later that I passed the interview and would be interviewed in store next. She scheduled a 1-on-1 interview in store the next day. (She also advised me to dress smartly, no trainers, no jeans). Went into store the next day (Thursday) and the interview lasted about 15 minutes. I was asked all the same questions as above while the interviewer wrote down my answers. Additional questions: Why this particular store when there are 2 others in this borough? How would your colleagues know you were having a bad day? What would you do to socialise with your colleagues? What is the advantage of having Sales Advisers in store rather than shopping online? Where have you received good/bad customer service? Received a job offer the next day at 9:30am to start work the next day at 10:00am. It was training from 10:00am - 3:00pm. Overall great interview process. Both interviewers were very pleasant and I felt as calm as you can during interviews. There were more questions than I listed but I can't remember them. I only prepared for about 2 hours overall, looking at their services and Debenhams history and memorising all my answers.
