Their diversity drives are a cheap gimmick wherein they arrange for mass interviews and take a lot of pictures and evidence of having conducted the “event” and end up wasting a candidate’s precious time. Post pandemic, the online hiring process is unfortunately the same.
Even after clearing tech and managerial rounds where they’ve confirmed that you will be hearing from HR, you can expect total silence from them thereafter.
If you have a job , I’d say stick to it and don’t let Citibank HR bully you into desperately arranging your calendar to accommodate them or else you will be logged in late finishing up your work after hours of listening to some delusional senior leader brag about his knowledge (or should I say access to random facts) and his “upliftment of women” expecting your eyes to light up while you are nothing but exhausted. Pathetic. Makes you wonder if they really have leaders you can really look up to who don’t believe that they’re being a big hero by being a supporter of Diversity&Inclusion. If you are a COMPETENT woman, value your time and believe that D&I is a basic standard, DITCH THEIR DIVERSITY DRIVES. Double check always and BOYCOTT their diversity drives.
I’ve been through this 3 years back and back then I still gave them the benefit of the doubt (and maybe I was naive too) but I realise how shameless and desperate they are to try to pull off a gimmick like this in order to seem like an inclusive organisation. Utter disgust is what I feel.
A message to HR: stop treating competent women as if they are beggars dying to join your company . Don’t be silly to assume that all of this won’t add up and you won’t be caught and probably trolled at a mass level at some point. Be better. Do better for your own sake.
Interviewer didn't show his face as usual. I've interviewed with Citi bank several times over the years and they never show their face even if its a panel of people.
They asked technical language definition questions. Only has vague answers about what the job is because he doesn't know. His only job is to grill you on whether you know what one java syntax does compared to another. Apparently they think that's the only thing that's important to working for Citi. Do you know how the inner workings of this keyword in java, spring, angular, or sql? Yes? Great. We have 30 more similar questions for you. If you pass this round, we will do this again for 3 more separate interviews where each round another faceless interviewer will ask you another list. After the interviews you learn nothing about the company and give you no reason to want to work there.
J'ai passé un entretien chez Citi (Mississauga, ON)
Entretien
1st round HR discussion- good
Second round Technical discussion - nice experience interacting with team
Third round manager - About discussions and understand the culture
Fourth round - HR manager round , To discuss about salary and benefits and
tech interview, asked some basic questions about python and two lc medium questions. Both aint too bad, but I didnt prepare for the interview so I communicated badly, as a result I didnt pass.
