I had a fantastic experience interviewing with CZI. The interview process was well-organized, efficient, and professional. The interviewers were friendly, knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable. The interview rounds were well-defined and structured, similar to the engineering manager rounds at other FAANG companies. The interviews felt more like collaborative conversations and I was able to get a good sense of the company culture. A special shoutout to my recruiter, Roopali Srivastava, who was incredibly helpful and informative throughout the entire process. Roopali took the time to explain what to expect in each interview round, and kept me up to date with feedback and next steps. I truly appreciate Roopali’s support and professionalism.

Recruiter reached out by email, initial phone screen with that recruiter followed by another phone screen by the hiring manager. Made it to a full-day set of online video interviews (5 in total). Recruiter closed the day with the promise to follow-up within a week once feedback was received. Never heard back. Reached out several times to inquire about the decision, met with no response. I was completely ghosted by the company. Totally unacceptable and unprofessional behavior but par for the course these days. Go ahead and interview if you need some live practice but keep your expectations low that they care a whim about you.

Standard fare of two manager/behavioral focused interviews, a technical interview, system design interview, and "ask me anything" off-the-record conversation (normally would be an informal lunch interview). No questions or interest by any interviewer of anything on my resume, my passions, hobbies or life experiences. Only one interviewer showed any emotion or passion around the process. Clearly they were just going through the motions, likely interviewing me just to check a "fairness" box.
This is not what we strive for at CZI, and I’m sorry that this happened. We will use this feedback to do better, and I hope you will consider CZI in the future.
