      Entretien

Got a phone call from the Technical Recruiter one week after online application.  Technical Recruiter rushed straight to asking questions after a brief intro and sharing little details about CAPCO.  Sounded very unprofessional.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Technical Recruiter asked only one question about my background and then asked me about my compensation expectations.  I asked her to provide me with $ range.  However, the Technical Recruiter didn't know the compensation range, how soon she'll get back to me and didn't even know what's the level of the role she was hiring (Associate, Principal Consultant, or Managing Consultant).  This is very weird and hard to believe.  I'm guessing that CAPCO Toronto office is interested in hiring consultants with the wisdom of 40 years old, work experience of 30 years old, and salary of 20 years old.

Thank you for your feedback, which we take seriously and have addressed with the team. Not everyone knows as much about Capco as we do! It is important to us that our candidates are provided with every opportunity to get to know Capco when considering a career with us. It seems that this didn’t happen in this instance, and we apologize for this. We hope that you remain open to learning more about us – if so, please reach out to our Canadian Talent Lead, Natalie Cronick – natalie.cronick@capco.com.

They do multiple rounds of interviews with different teams - first an intro with the Human Resources recruiter, then a manager, and then technical team to gauge fit of your experience.

Positive My interview process with Capco was one of the most welcoming and respectful experiences I’ve had in consulting. Every person I met was friendly, genuine, and intentional about creating a comfortable environment. There were no “gotcha” or trick questions — the conversations were straightforward, fair, and focused on understanding my experience. I appreciated that they gave me time to think, ask for clarity, and speak openly without feeling judged. There was no sense of elitism or ego from anyone on the panel. Compared to other firms I’ve interviewed with, Capco’s culture felt noticeably more positive and grounded. I left the interview feeling respected, valued, and confident that my background and experiences were truly appreciated.

Interview process was fairly smooth, mostly verbal questions and no live coding/coding exercises. Overall a nice experience. Some issues after accepting the offer however, they then took 3 weeks to get back in contact with me. The response was that the role was no longer needed and i may get hired as a "culpability" role. Within 24 hours this was then changed to their is a role after all. This part was rather stressful.
