Entretien
There was a four stage hiring process. Firstly needed to complete a range of different competency questions relating to aspects of interest to Atkins. Then required to complete a numerical and verbal reasoning test online, similar to other companies. Upon completing these two stages you will be invited to attend a phone interview, this again was predominately competency based, particularly focusing on examples of previous experience. Finally if successful you will be invited to an assessment centre, this is an all day event with a range of different tasks both technical relating to the area you applied for and some competency based tasks, such as a group exercise and presentation based exercise.

I found the most unexpected questions to be some of the technical questions. This were significantly more fundamental than I had expected and as such were more difficult than needed to be if I had prepared differently.
Good overall experience. This job has a long period between applying and being offered the job, with a variety of stages in between you have to pass. Technical questions asked during the face to face interview testing competency

Entretien
Straight forward and well explained. Phone call interview, followed by teams interview and group activity focused on gauging how well you work with others. Best to prepare at each stage and make sure you have some knowledge of the company and projects before hand.

Relatively slow.
Applied in Nov – Dec time and had an interview in Spring.
Be careful as the job posts often don’t mention the required security clearance. (That’s what happened to me, and I couldn’t join)
The actual interview day:
Morning meeting with HR where you are told the benefits and some details about the office you applied to. (30min)
Interview with 2 engineers from the company from the company. (2h)
