For a short-term contract role, the interview process was long and arduous. I already posted about the first leg of interviews here. After making it through to the next set of interviews, I was given an assignment due in three days: write a communications email and marketing plan to get employees excited about a building renovation and entice them to drive off campus to utilize the space. This is my wheelhouse, and I knocked it out of the park. Plus, they had it the next day. THEN, I was ghosted, as was the recruiter who scouted me for the job! I never heard a word back. My feeling is they were fishing for free work and stole my comms plan. BEWARE! I will never work for free again.
