I was contacted by an external recruiter, which I felt was quite odd, looking at the fact that Adecco’s industry is Staff & Recruiting. She passed along my CV and I was invited for an interview with the hiring manager, which went great and I got positive feedback right on the spot. Second round with a stakeholder, that also went well. Great feedback on the spot again. Third round with HR, which was when things went south. HR did odd remarks about my CV (which seemed to me that this should have been looked at before I’m even invited to an interview). Then he also moved along saying how being remote was not going to be good and probably not work for the position (again, I pointed out to the recruiter I had no intentions of relocating, so if this was needed, I would not like my CV to be passed to the hiring manager then). He also said that it seemed that I was always leaving current company searching for a better position (a lot of people do that, but in my case it did not apply as I have been promoted in my current job and I have also been promoted before in other companies I worked at).
They were super pressuring about me making time for the interviews ASAP and HR told me I would pass along to the last stage (I even had a blocker already set) and then radio silence. I had to ask the external recruiter if I should keep the blocker or not and she just got back to me that company has not given any feedback yet, so I could cancel the blocker (even though HR from the company mentioned they would give me feedback ASAP).
I think if you are going to pressure a candidate (one that did not apply for the position, a recruited one) to open his agenda to have interviews ASAP, the least you could do is to give them proper feedback in the timeframe mentioned.
