I recently had a deeply frustrating interview experience, primarily due to the disorganized handling by the HR team. While the subject matter experts I interacted with during the interviews were professional and insightful, the HR team in India was completely uncoordinated.
I was initially informed by HR that I could block my interview slot through a link in an email, but the website showed no available slots for the entire year. I immediately flagged this issue via email.
Four days later, another HR rep called to acknowledge a problem with the website and scheduled my first interview manually.
Round 1 went smoothly and on time. However, the same day, HR sent another faulty link for me to book my second round, leading to the same issue.
After informing them again, I received a call from another HR rep asking if I could attend an on-site interview. I agreed.
Shortly after, I got a call from yet another HR rep asking when I was available for Round 1, even though I had already completed it. When I politely explained this, the call was abruptly cut off.
Eventually, they set up Round 2 virtually, and it went well.
I then received an email for what I assumed was Round 3, but when I showed up at the office, it turned out it was for another Round 2, in person.
The HR had forgotten to inform security about my visit, so I waited 30 minutes for a gate pass.
While waiting for a second clearance, multiple HR reps called, insisting I join a virtual meeting immediately, even though I repeatedly informed them I was onsite for the interview.
When I finally entered the interview room, the interviewer, who was very patient, mentioned he was unaware that I had already completed multiple rounds. He also expressed surprise, as the process usually only involves two rounds.
After the interview, HR assured me I would get a result in 48 hours.
Despite following up daily for two weeks via email and calls, I have received no response. In fact, my calls are now being ignored or cut off.
To top it off, I received a call from HR at Accenture asking recruitment questions for a completely different process. When I voiced my frustration and explained I was awaiting a decision from my previous interviews, the call was abruptly ended.
Do candidates really deserve such treatment from HR?
