      Entretien pour Customer Service Representative

      15 janv. 2013
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      Fayetteville, NC
      Aucune offre
      Expérience neutre
      Entretien moyen

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris plus d'une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez AT&T (Fayetteville, NC) en déc. 2012

      Entretien

Applied online and received email that same day that scheduled me for an online phone conference. They have you call a number and/or download this program and the HR person gives a power-point like presentation introducing you to the company, their expectations, benefits and so on. Other than calling in and being accounted for as "present" there is no participation, the HR talks for about 30-45 minutes. Sounds boring but do not skip this, it's when they will schedule the people who attended to come in to do a skills test. In my case, the phone conference was on a Monday and the immediate test days were Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. The skills test was a 2 part, computer based with survey and skills questions. The first part was multiple choice, more likely/less likely, some calculations of percentages, personality and 'what if' situations etc. The second part is a call center simulation (with terrible 90s graphics) that is a bit tedious but as long as you 1-enter the information correctly and 2-offer services, plans, products etc conduct sales to the "callers", you should be fine. After you finish the test, you talk to the HR about your test results, if you passed or failed, your general work/life history, why you want to work there etc then they will call you for an interview. Also, the phone number they call from is a 1800 number for some reason even though they have local phone lines, just putting it out there because I almost didn't answer, I thought it was a telemarketer calling. As for the interview itself, it was short, slightly unprofessional and started late. My interviewer walked in the door about 15 minutes after my scheduled time and another 5-10 minutes passed before I was called in. The interview was held in an office near the only employee entry and exit point, a high traffic area. It was loud and distracting, people were coming back from lunch, talking about their weekend plans and so on. The interviewer was acting like they were bored or tired and were a little aloof, as though there was something else they could have been doing at the moment. They used the S.T.A.R. method with pretty standard questions that you could google and prep with beforehand. The "phone call if selected, email if rejected" others have mentioned is true. I received an email about 10 days after the interview (I applied during Christmas season, I imagine it would be quicker during non-holiday times). If you fail the skills test you have to wait 6 months before applying again. If you aren't hired you have to wait 6 months before applying again. It seems like a great place to work, good benefits, unionized and the employees actually looked happy and were friendly to those of us who were waiting to test/interview. Despite my experience this time, I do plan to apply again knowing what I know now and hope I have a different outcome.

      Question 1

Nothing too difficult. Questions about customer/employee relations, experience with computers etc. The intervew was more difficult than the questions.

You may apply online and may receive an email to schedule a phone interview. With one of their human resource agents. It may be a third-party conpany until you pass a preliminary interview and advance to the next stage. The interview was brief and straightforward and one may be hired on the spot.

Just like having a conversation. Basically asked about availability, working with others and independently, handling difficult customers and difficult situations, also how would you handle overcoming objection with sales and would that be a problem for you.
