Classroom Assistant

• To be responsible for all duties as required of a Classroom Assistant.
• To uphold the ethos of the school;
• To assist in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for babies.
• To support the implementation of age-appropriate developmental activities that promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
• To assist with daily care routines, including feeding, nappy changing, sleeping, and hygiene practices.
• To ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the classroom at all times.
• To observe and monitor each child’s development and communicate any concerns to the lead teacher.
• To assist with maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming classroom environment.
• To work effectively together as a team towards the success of the school;
• To follow a well-designed daily programme;
• To participate in any general events that take place during the year;
• To support the school’s philosophy of learning through play and exploration.
• To assist with preparing resources and materials required for daily activities.
• To maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues, pupils and parents;
• Energetic, self-motivated and able to use own initiative;
• Ability to work within a team;
• Good organisational skills;
• Good communication skills
• Excellent rapport with babies and young children.
• Ability to remain calm and responsive in a busy classroom environment.
• Understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices for infants.

• Minimum requirement is a Matric Certificate.

• Previous experience working with babies or young children in a similar environment is essential.
• Experience in an educational or childcare setting will be advantageous.
