To the Moon and beyond! 🚀🌕🛰️ Viasat has been selected to design a lunar orbiting satellite communications system to help unlock everything from space exploration and scientific missions to ultimately, a long-term presence on the Moon. The project, called Moonlight, is an ESA Connectivity and Secure Communications program led by Telespazio. Alongside a host of European and UK companies, including the UK Space Agency, Moonlight aims to establish Europe’s first lunar orbiting Navigation and Communication system for European and international missions both on the surface of the moon and in lunar orbit. As the end-to-end communications lead, we will leverage our advanced engineering and technology expertise from the Viasat International Business HQ in London to deliver the lunar communications system, including the lunar satellites, Earth ground segment, and lunar surface user terminals. We’re thrilled to be pushing the boundaries of human knowledge and exploration with Moonlight! Read more here: https://vsat.co/4bUMhUU
