Ever wonder what it’s like to watch a space shuttle take off from up close? While we don't know, our HR colleague Henry Matta Garcia does! After service in the Army, Henry worked as a mechanical technician on NASA’s Space Shuttle Program in the 90s, turning wrenches and getting his hands dirty inside and around the space shuttle fleet. “I was part of the red crew, the mechanics who are on standby in case any last-minute repairs before they press the launch button.” These days, when he isn't overseeing Tria's HR information systems and compliance, Henry is an avid runner who is on his way to Germany to run the Berlin Marathon this weekend, followed by the Marine Corps Marathon in D.C. next month. Join us in wishing him luck in two great races!

Tria Federal today announced the launch of its new technology innovation group, Tria Labs. Led by Chief Technology Officer John Cho and a team of engineers, developers and technologists, Tria Labs will develop and test emerging technologies and solutions for some of the biggest problems facing the federal government, with a focus on mission areas where artificial intelligence, low-code/no-code development, intelligent automation, and cybersecurity will play critical roles. “Building emerging technologies and solutions that go above and beyond our contractual obligations is critical to driving Tria to the next level of growth and success,” Cho said. “This means proactively identifying challenges and tackling them head-on. As a trusted partner, we can build solutions around what the customer needs, and source the technologies required for those solutions.” “Tria has a lot of amazing technical talent that is focused on addressing current customer needs. To provide greater value to our customers we will ideate, test those ideas, and create solutions that help future-proof the federal government,” said Chief Executive Officer Tim Borchert. There are three primary components to Tria Labs: research and development, rapid prototyping, and collaboration.

"I really enjoy working alongside new and brilliant people for each proposal, getting their perspective and seeing how they approach a problem. I am always learning. "Something I love about our proposal team is that we are always eager to lend a hand and help each other. Although we are scattered around the country, we try to meet in person every other month. We communicate frequently and have cultivated great working relationships and friendships." ☠☠☠ WARNING: If you ever meet Maria, be careful not to share any positive opinions about pickleball, because this avid tennis player might have a bone to pick with you!

Did you know that: 🎮 The largest demographic of gamers are between the ages of 18-36? 🎖️ The average time an enlisted person serves in the military is between 2-6 years? 📣 More than 17 veterans die by suicide every day? John Cho, Tria's CTO, and Devin Brown, leader of one of our U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs programs, were honored to participate last weekend in Veterans Health – MIT Hacking Medicine 2024, hosted by the Tampa VA Medical Center and held at the University of South Florida. The event brought top minds together from VA, academia, and public and private sectors to reimagine veteran health care. Experienced mentors joined subject matter experts to guide “hackers” through this opportunity to revolutionize the care VA provides for veterans. For their specific track -- Prevent Veteran Suicide (Mental Health) -- John and Devin worked in a small team alongside a VA neuropsychologist, physical therapist, and primary care physician. The Tria-supported team -- with John serving as the product designer and Devin running product management -- designed a Tamagotchi-style game concept to help facilitate soft interventions and activation to reach and support veterans who are deeply engaged in the gaming community. John and Devin, and the entire team at Tria, will always step up and contribute our time to better serve and support America's veterans.
