Methodist Mansfield has given the community a boost in emergency care. The hospital recently expanded its trauma care services. Now residents can count on trauma surgeons being on-site 24 hours a day, which means that the trauma team is ready for virtually any emergency at any time. People can quickly access high-quality, lifesaving care for complex to severe emergencies without wasting a second traveling to another trauma center. Our hospital's ED has their back!
How we've grown! Methodist Richardson has finished an expansion on the fifth floor that adds a 25-bed intermediate care unit. This addition will really make a difference as we approach the winter's COVID, RSV, and flu surges. We're ready!

Nathan Kody Yerger, MD, a family medicine physician at Methodist Family Health Center – Midlothian, talked about respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), including its symptoms and the increased risk it poses to aging adults. Methodist Midlothian is doubly proud of its recent accolades. The hospital was included in Becker’s Hospital Review's list of the top 350 cleanest hospitals in the United States! The ranking is based on hospitals with a five-star cleanliness rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) patient survey (the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems). Director of Support Services Renee Trussell says that it's hard work keeping the hospital immaculate 24/7, and this recognition is a testament to the efforts of our environmental services team.
Unite Ellis is an organization that has established food pantries in all Midlothian ISD schools. At Methodist Midlothian, we held a food drive to help them stock their shelves. The food and other items collected will fill stomachs and meet the needs of our community's students throughout the year. Very satisfying!
Methodist Dallas and Methodist Health System employees packed two SUVs full of school supplies to donate to Hogg New Tech Elementary School in Oak Cliff. The donation will help teachers and students launch the new school year. Any supplies they don't need now will go into the school's supply closet, which families and teachers can use throughout the year. Smart move!
Methodist Southlake teamed up with the Trophy Club Fire Department to teach CPR to the staff of a local restaurant. The employees were motivated to learn CPR after a customer went into cardiac arrest earlier this year. Last year, the hospital held its first EMS Conference at the restaurant. This year, employees themselves got to learn how to save a life. We love that!
Methodist Charlton kicked off its Legislative Breakfast Series with state Sen. Royce West and U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett slated to speak. The annual event, a collaboration with the Best Southwest Partnership, allows policymakers, educators, and healthcare leaders to discuss how legislation affects their decision-making. Our leaders, President Michael Stewart and Chief Nursing Officer Jeremy Taylor, were there to contribute their wisdom.
