Corinna Reinisch is our ‘Moo-ver and Shaker’ when it comes to driving change for farm animal welfare! 🐄 As our Programme Lead Farm Animal Welfare, Corinna inspires political progress for animal welfare in Europe and beyond. She does this by developing impactful campaigns that bring our message to the forefront of policy makers and society. She has led the campaigns to: ❌🚚 End cruel transports of animals. ❌ ⛓ End caged farming practices. ✅ 🌱 Promote public vendors to purchase animal-based products with a higher animal welfare standard and offer plant based alternatives. Corinna has joined many FOUR PAWS actions with pictures showing her marching for an end to factory farming, running to #StopCruelWool and wearing an egg costume to symbolise the millions of male chicks that were killed in the DACH region immediately after hatching in 2014. 🐣 "Although it can be quite challenging to continue the fight when legislative changes are slow and we are faced with setbacks, we need to stay courageous and continue fighting for the good cause," says Corinna. With colleagues like her leading the way, we can create a world where we #DoBetterForAnimals and ensure that they have a life worth living. After more than 10 years working for FOUR PAWS, where she has championed animal welfare, Corinna advises animal welfare activists “not to be discouraged if things don't immediately go your way, but to share ideas with like-minded people and keep fighting for what you believe in!”

Best Practices for CV Writing When it comes to finding a new job, the market can be competitive, and you need to focus on how to make your initial impression: your resume. It is important that the first thing potential employers see is an accurate representation of yourself. Here are some tips to help you create a professional but engaging resume that shows your skills and experiences: - Stand out by highlighting your professional skills, achievements, and relevant background as this information is what potential employers are most interested in. - Customize your resume for each position you apply for and focus on the abilities and experiences that are most relevant to a specific job description. - Instead of simply listing your job responsibilities, focus on your achievements in each role. If possible, share concrete numbers and data to show your accomplishments. - List your educational background and any relevant certifications. - Avoid including sensitive information such as your birthdate, photo, marital status, or home address. These details are not necessary for the initial stages of recruitment. - Ask for feedback! There might be a spelling mistake or an error that you won’t notice, but that could be obvious to someone reviewing it for the first time. By following these best practices, you can create an effective resume that shows your unique qualifications. FOUR PAWS looks forward to your application!

Our unique and rewarding responsibility: Ensuring the well-being of our animals for the rest of their lives through providing professional care. 🐾 We aim to improve the quality of life of our animals to the best achievable level. Our Head of Wild Animal Health and Husbandry, Irene Redtenbacher, mentioned how “Our work does not end when we reveal animals’ suffering and rescue them but continues with ongoing hard work to provide the animals with good welfare in an environment suitable for fulfilling their needs.” 🌲 Our incredible animal caretakers continue working with our animals with many of them suffering from incurable chronic health conditions and behavioural disorders resulting from their often traumatic past. 💚 We continue to provide the utmost care for these animals at our sanctuaries, focusing on their welfare until the end of their lives. Unfortunately, many of our animals come to us after years of living in poor keeping conditions. ⛓️‍💥 When veterinary care and husbandry practices no longer maintain a good quality of life of an animal in our care, we do not prolong their suffering but take comfort in knowing that we did what we could to give them the best life possible. Irene helps us to deliver this information to our community. She highlighted how uplifting it is for our animal caretakers to hear the appreciation from our supporters when we share that an animal has passed away. ❤️

A beacon of hope in the eyes of strays in Bulgaria 🐕 Dr. Slavea Ivanova has worked as a veterinarian at our Stray Animal Care project since 2018 helping animals in need. 🐈‍⬛ Slavea mentioned that during her time with us dog Tropcho's story stood out to her. He was hit by a car with a severe brain injury. The first week his condition was critical and he was unconscious for three days. Yet, in the end he pulled through although he cannot see well with his right eye and still has a wobbly walk from being hit by the car. 🚗 Luckily, help for Tropcho came just in time and he got a second chance in life. Unfortunately, stories such as Tropcho’s are not uncommon, especially in areas with so many strays. Therefore, Slavea focuses on curbing the number of strays in the country with CNVR (Catch-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return). 💉 Together with her team and colleagues, she can reach between 20 – 30 sterilisations per day. Even after seeing so many animals suffering, Slavea does not lose hope. She believes that every person can make an impact and if you change one person’s mind when it comes to strays, “they will spread the good and have an impact on others and just like that the whole nation’s mindset can be changed.” 🐾 Slavea has achieved so much in Bulgaria and we could not be prouder!

From Volunteer to a Dedicated Career 💪 Lisette Keetman started as a volunteer at LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary in South Africa in January 2015. Although the worthwhile opportunity influenced her initial travel, months of hearing colleagues’ stories captivated her for years to come. Lisette truly grasped the magnitude of what FOUR PAWS does to reveal, rescue and protect animals after hearing about many rescues and about how we took over the care of 26 big cats in the Netherlands, which is where she is from. 🦁 Lisette said upon recollecting “After I heard these inspiring stories, I knew that FOUR PAWS was THE animal welfare organisation that I wanted to be part of.” She proceeded to join our FOUR PAWS office in the Netherlands fundraising and communicating on social media for both the Dutch office and FELIDA Big Cat Sanctuary. However, we strive to promote our colleagues from within. After she grew in her role for several years, Lisette switched from the Dutch market to communicating and marketing on behalf of all FOUR PAWS sanctuaries worldwide. Reflecting on her FOUR PAWS journey, Lisette found that she was most fulfilled when working closer to the animals she was writing about. In 2022, she began the next step in her journey becoming part of the Stray Animal Care team and making the world a better place for stray dogs and cats. 🐕 We join Lisette in looking forward to advocating for a world where humans treat animals with respect, empathy and understanding!

Be part of the climate movement and #DoBetterForAnimals! 💪 We are all about connecting the dots between animal agriculture and the #ClimateCrisis – by raising awareness, by joining climate marches and strikes and demanding climate action that supports animal welfare! 🌱 Did you know? According to climate scientists, agriculture is responsible for a whopping one sixth of human-caused greenhouse gas emissions. Sadly, animal agriculture's impact is often underestimated. 🐮 Governments need to end factory farming ❌🐔 and support the shift from overconsumption of meat and dairy to healthier more plant-based diets. Let's make a change together for a kinder, greener future and #StopFactoryFarming! 🐾 Your voice matters in shaping policies that can #DoBetterForAnimals. Together, we can make a difference for our planet and all its inhabitants!

In 2021, our staff in Cambodian 🇰🇭 became responsible for overseeing 61 lives in a matter of hours. Taking care of a 🐶 dog comes with a lot of work and responsibilities let alone watching over the wellbeing of 61 of them. After being rescued from a 🚐 van bound for a slaughterhouse, the dogs were taken into our custody. Day by day they recovered from their injuries, which was largely in part due to the hard work and compassion of our caretakers Thourn Chout and Cheat Viboul. Thourn and Cheat 🧹 cleaned the shelter, took the dogs for walks, bathed the dogs 🛁 and provided medical assistance if needed. Some of them were so traumatised by the experience that they were biting Thourn and Cheat, who, however, never lost their patience and love for these dogs. Due to their efforts to socialise and leash train them, all of these dogs could successfully be adopted. They were shocked when they saw the horrors of the dog meat trade with their own eyes and are strong advocates for a 🛑 ban of this trade that will hopefully be eradicated. Sudan Animals 🇸🇩 🦁 now safe at our LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary With the conflict relentlessly encroaching upon Kassala, the responsible parties involved agreed to swiftly move the animals out of the country to ensure their permanent safety. ✈️ Our experienced FOUR PAWS rescue team travelled back to Sudan to prepare for the emergency evacuation. Upon their arrival, the initial assessment of the animals was dire: the lions had open wounds that required immediate attention. Our dedicated team worked around the clock, ensuring the well-being of every animal and organising their transfer. 🚛 The animals were loaded onto trucks in transport crates bound for Port Sudan. From there, they continued their journey to safety. ✈️ Releasing these animals into their new species-appropriate home ❤️ at LIONSROCK marks the end of a long and strenuous journey! Now, our incredible colleagues at the sanctuary are monitoring the 11 lions closely 🔎 to establish care according to their individual needs. This rescue would not have been possible without our brave and dedicated FOUR PAWS team led by Dr Amir Khalil who were on the ground and willing to move these animals from a turbulent situation to safety. We are truly in awe of their commitment to animal welfare. 🐾 📸 © FOUR PAWS | Hristo Vladev
