For Employee Appreciation Day, many of us on #TeamCyto spent time volunteering. Our activities ranged from building lava lamp chemistry kits for kids from underrepresented communities who are interested in STEM, to putting together new parent bags with essential baby items, to preparing and distributing food for vulnerable communities. We are thankful for our employees who volunteered and for the organizations including Life Science Cares, Piefest, HealthRight 360, Samaritan House, GLIDE, and Broad Street Love that connect us with opportunities to do good.

One thing about us — we take Halloween seriously! Our annual costume contest is the main event, and each year there’s a theme to bring together the competitive spirit, good humor, and creativity. This year our theme was Haunted Seas Pirate Halloween and employees dressed up to win the coveted team prize for best costume.

Yesterday was our annual Science Is In Our Soul Day where employees across the company showcased their work on posters throughout our headquarters. Founded in our core value of Science Is In Our Soul, this annual event brings to life our commitment to scientific thinking, innovation, and learning from one another. The idea came from a handful of employees who wanted a forum to share cutting-edge research with colleagues. Since then, it’s evolved into a cultural staple that highlights the scientist at heart in each of us and our collective contribution in service of improving patient lives.
