Aledade Co-Founder and President Mat Kendall recently spent time visiting with five of our partner primary care organizations in Arkansas to kick off the year. As he reflects on these conversations, one thing becomes crystal clear: regardless of differences in size or resources, every organization shares the goal of achieving better health for their patients and their communities. Read Mat’s full reflections on what makes rural primary care so special and how we're honored to support these incredible teams.
Through our partner clinicians leading with evidence-based patient care and our employees approaching every challenge with curiosity and service, 2025 has proven what's possible when we work together toward doing more good. The hard work and dedication of primary care organizations nationwide continues to demonstrate that physician-led, value-based care isn't just a vision, it's a reality that's reshaping health care one community at a time. Thank you to every primary care practice, community health center and team member who made 2025 a year of meaningful impact and sustainable progress.
Service is a core value at Aledade, and our employees nationwide have been spending volunteer hours giving back to the communities we serve. When Aledade teams volunteer, we bring compassion, community and connection into the places that need it most – from HQ in Maryland to Michigan, Texas and beyond. When we are supporting organizations fighting food insecurity, our teams show what community-driven health care really looks like: boots on the ground, hands in the work and hearts in the right place.
We're proud to share that our CEO and co-founder Farzad Mostashari, MD has been named one of Modern Healthcare's 100 Most Influential People for 2025. “This honor reflects that when we change the incentives in health care, we improve the system for everyone,” said Mostashari.
On the new episode of Offcall's "How I Doctor Podcast,” Graham Walker, MD sits down with Umar Bowers, MD, an Aledade partner physician at who successfully transitioned to independent practice with Dawson Med Primary Care and Urgent Care, and Dan Bowles, our general manager of practice health, who provides insights into how value-based care is creating new pathways to physician autonomy.
As a public benefit corporation (PBC), Aledade is committed to delivering better health, better care and lower costs — creating a health care system that's good for patients, good for practices and good for society. Our newly released PBC Report showcases how this mission-driven approach delivers real results: in 2024, we helped our partners prevent 263,000 unnecessary hospitalizations and emergency department visits, delivered over $1 billion in shared savings to primary care organizations and saved taxpayers more than $320 million. The report also highlights our award-winning workplace culture that has earned multiple 2024 recognitions, including Best Places to Work in Healthcare, with over 90% of employees believing in our company's mission alignment. Being a PBC means we're accountable not just to shareholders, but to all stakeholders.
We are proud to celebrate 90 Aledade primary care partner practices and community health centers that have received national recognition from the American Heart Association and American Medical Association's "Target: BP" initiative for achieving high blood pressure control rates. "When our partners successfully manage their patients' blood pressure, they're preventing heart disease and saving lives," said Farzad Mostashari, MD, co-founder and CEO of Aledade. "This recognition is a testament to our partners’ successful value-based care efforts, their ongoing commitment to their patients and the result of the work they do every day to provide high-quality, preventive care in the communities they serve."
At the recent inaugural Primary Care Summit hosted by the Virginia Center for Health Innovation, Kevin Van Dyke, Virginia and Tennessee market president, and Will London, policy specialist, joined health care leaders to discuss the critical issues facing primary care today. Through our work with state coalitions and partners, the Aledade Policy Institute continues to advocate for state-level investments in primary care. At the American Academy of Family Physicians FMX conference recently, our team connected with clinicians, gaining valuable insights into primary care's current challenges and opportunities. At our booth, we created a wellness moment for physicians navigating health care's complexities, aiming to help remind them why they chose medicine in the first place — to Do More Good for their patients. These conversations will guide our continued work advancing value-based care solutions that enhance physician satisfaction and patient outcomes.
