Adventist Health Howard Memorial and Adventist Health Ukiah Valley were named to the inaugural Forbes Top Hospitals 2026 list. Approximately 5,400 general acute care hospitals were eligible for consideration. Forbes determined the top hospitals with validated and vetted data extracted from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Provider Data Catalog (PDC). From this dataset, measurement experts identified healthcare quality measures that assess patient outcomes, hospital best practices, value, and patient experience. Central to this methodology is its emphasis on clinical patient outcomes (such as rates of mortality, survival, infection, and readmissions). The ratings were calculated, and 253 hospitals, including Adventist Health Howard Memorial and Adventist Health Ukiah Valley, received an overall rating of 5 stars.

Juneteenth, June 19, is recognized as the anniversary of the true end of slavery across the United States. On this day in 1865, more than two years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, the news finally reached Texas. This was the final U.S. state to abolish slavery. Juneteenth is a time to celebrate this monumental event in history.

Our theme for Hospital Week is “Healthcare with Heart,” and team members like Will are shining examples of how bringing our best selves to serve our patients is at the heart of our mission. It doesn’t just inspire us, it inspires Will’s son too, who encourages his dad to “keep smiling, keep staying strong, and keep saving lives.” Thank you to our team members like Will who save lives, create health, and live our mission every day.
