This week over 30 of our A Wilderness Way colleagues are beginning their Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care journey. This new group are Cohort 10. We offer this qualification for free and in-house at AWW. Each learner is assigned an assessor who provides one-to-one support. Each cohort enjoys engaging resources and workshops and we are extremely proud to be able to deliver this course at AWW. The Clewer Initiative recently came to A Wilderness Way to deliver county lines training. The Clewer Initiative trainer commented: “It was a privilege to provide training to A Wilderness Way. It is such an inspiring organisation doing ground-breaking work amongst truly vulnerable children and potential victims of county lines and modern slavery. It is vital that all their teams have an in-depth understanding of county lines as it, no doubt, affects many of the children they work with. The team was so passionate about what they do and I believe they are now more equipped to identify warning signs of county lines and respond appropriately.”
Once a month, Kathryn Arnott-Gent from The Talk About Trust delivers training to our care teams on Alcohol and Cannabis and its effects on young people.
Throughout the year we offer varied outdoor activities to all of our colleagues. Our Outdoor practitioners guide everyone no matter their experience or skill level and are extremely supportive.
