      Be prepared to complete several "pre-screening" assessments BEFORE they will even give you an HR screening interview. First is a Wonderlic assessment and the second is a Predictive Index Survey. Started the tests but decided against going any further. I believe my extensive experience speaks for itself. I am far beyond an entry-level candidate and the assessments are not job-specific. Offered to invest my time to meet with them to determine whether we should work together. Unfortunately, they were not willing to invest their precious time as a serious employer, so it wasn't prudent for me to do what's essentially a one-sided assessment without even a guarantee of a hiring manager interview.

      Thank you for sharing your feedback about your experience with our selection process. While you did not interview with vCom, your perspective is still valuable for future candidates to consider. To complete the picture for those that may read your review, we would like to provide additional clarity on our process and the reason behind our decision to decline your candidacy. At vCom, we place a high priority on creating a healthy culture, one that is made up of team players that are a blend of hungry, humble, smarts and people-smarts. The Wonderlic assessment helps us gauge cognitive ability, motivation, and personality factors. The Predictive Index helps us understand the behavior profile of the candidate. Both assessments are job-specific and are not pass/fail, but instead they are a supplement to our interview process and enable us to increase the likelihood of making a successful hire. Each application/resume we receive is reviewed by a human and only those candidates selected for further consideration are invited to complete our assessments. For candidates applying to open roles, the assessments are a lead-in to the first phone screen with HR, meaning once you complete the assessments you'll be scheduled for the phone screen. After a successful HR phone screen, the candidate's complete profile is shared with the hiring manager for consideration. Our process is designed to be applied consistently across all candidates considered regardless of their level of experience. We provided explanation and more than one opportunity for this candidate to opt-in to our process. It became clear that this individual was seeking an exception to be made solely on the basis of their experience-level and we weren't able to accommodate that exception out of a commitment to keeping our process fair to those candidates that have completed the assessments in advance of a phone screen as requested.

      After applying the recruiting team reached out to me to take two assessments (a predictive index and cognitive test). These assessments help them perform a first round filter to ensure a fit for the culture and role. Next I had a prescreening with the director of talent acquisition, followed by interviews with the hiring manager, VP and then the COO. I know it seems like a lot but it was actually a really unique and fun experience. They shared my test results with me which was also neat to see but not surprising since one of their core values is transparency.
