      Entretien

I applied through Indeed in early October. On the same day, an auto-generated message prompted me with additional questions. After submitting those, the hiring manager messaged me a few hours later to schedule an interview for the same week. Upon arriving at the building, you’re required to take a picture of yourself and provide your information before anyone comes out to meet you, which I found to be highly unusual. It took an additional 10-15 minutes past our scheduled interview time for the hiring manager to greet me and take me to their office for the discussion. It seemed as if they hadn’t even reviewed my resume beforehand, as they asked about my previous work experience and if I had any relevant experience for the role. They then delved into the ‘name a time when’ questions, which I specifically answered with a positive managerial approach, aligning it with the role and my previous employment history. This approach seemed to really impress the hiring manager, as they asked how soon I could start. I informed them I could start as soon as possible, and they assured me that a second interview with the Director wouldn’t be necessary, given my experience. They mentioned that an offer would be extended as soon as the Director returned from vacation, which was the following week, as they needed to approve it. I was slated to start the Monday after that. However, that week passed without an offer or any communication. I attempted to message them, but received no response. I had to reach out to the receptionist who had texted me on the day of the interview to confirm my attendance and inquire about the status of my offer. They informed me that the Director was still reviewing resumes and conducting interviews, which I found to be extremely strange, considering the hiring manager had already offered me the position. Suddenly, after reaching out to them, the hiring manager messaged me with the same information, but also asked if I’d be open to considering an entry-level role. I found this suggestion to be highly insulting, given the substantial difference in pay. I inquired about what had happened to the previous offer, but mysteriously, they disappeared. I attempted to reach out again the following day, but still received no response. I also contacted the receptionist, but again, received no reply. They had ghosted me. I professionally informed them the next week that I was no longer interested due to the lack of a written offer and the complete absence of communication. Astonishingly, they suddenly found the time to message me back. However, there was no apology for the inconvenience they’d caused, and their response felt more like a dismissive ‘okay, bye.’ Regrettably, I’ve spent two weeks dealing with this company. I strongly advise anyone applying for roles with them to steer clear.
