I got a call the day before asking to come in for an interview. The store manager was very flexible with the time, so I ended up going into the store right when it opened. The district manager was also there, so I was interviewed by both of them at the same time. The DM drilled me with questions and the SM simply went over "Francesca's Promise" with me. After that they took me out to the store front and told me to choose one article of clothing I hated and one article clothing I loved and then sell them both to the SM. Then the DM told me she wanted a new outfit for a party and asked me to dress her. After both role plays, they told me things they liked and things they didn't like. Definitely dress classy and semi professional. I made the mistake of wearing shorts and a top and the DM called me out on it. They have a couple more interviews today, so I didn't get the job on the spot. Still have to wait and see.

Question 1
Tell me about your most recent retail position and what you loved about it
Very easy. I applied online and then was called a few days later for an in-person interview with the manager. The interview was about 20 minutes and I was offered the position on the spot.

Easy interview process over the phone at first then followed up with an in-person interview. I wanted something simple, an easy commute, and something to pay the bills to be quite honest. I love shopping and fashion so I thought a boutique would be perfect.

My process started four years ago and it’s been a long ride with this company. I first applied in September 2015 when i had left my first retail job at Macy’s , i was there for a year and a half . I applied to Francesca’s and after a week of not hearing anything i called the store and she booked me an interview or two days later. The interview went okay, i wasn’t bad but i wasn’t fantastic either. Overall it was average but i really wanted to work there , she told me she had more interviews and i would hear back within two weeks. I never did so i knew i didn’t get it. This company is VERY picky, they only hire girls who have over the top retail experience and lots of energy. Four years have passed and I’m almost 24 now and I’m still in retail. I’ve worked at ten different stores and different kinds of retail from Santa photo booth to being a wedding stylist at David’s bridal . I currently work at Loft and i Love my job but i wanted another job to make ends meet. I thought of Francesca’s and i decided to apply again. I’m now living in a different city for school six hours away. I applied for the Sales Lead and she called me three weeks later to set up an interview! I was excited and the interview Went wonderful . After being in retail so long, I’m no longer shy like i was in my first interview. I’m bubbly with a lot of energy and the store manager saw that about me. And i still love shopping here and it showed. She said she had more interviews and would call me the end of the week to have a second interview . Days passed and i didn’t hear anything and i was disappointed because i thought i nailed it. She called me 9 Days later and told me she gave the Sales Lead to a girl who already worked for her, they only like to promote inside which made sense. But she really wanted me to work for her and agreed to be a stylist but i needed to interview with the assistant first. Two days later i had the second interview and it went VERY well again! She loved me and told the store manager to hire me. Two hours later she called me to tell me i was a perfect addition to their team and i accepted their offer! I had my first day and it was a lot of paper work . Francesca’s is VERY guest oriented, if you aren’t energetic and if you don’t have at least two years of one on one customer service, you’re most likely not going to get hired . Take it from me, it’s taken me four years of building up my retail career to finally work for this company but in the end it was worth it! Excited to work here! ALSO both first interviews i had to pick an outfit for a wedding occasion and this last one was a wine tasting event.
