      Entretien

Maybe I am jumping a gun a bit, but it has been a month since the last I heard from this company. I am assuming this is a NO-GO. I first got contacted on LinkedIN and expressed interest in learning more about a position dealing with insights and external clients. It was another month before I got an email asking me if I would like to meet with them. I met the HR person downtown, not in the office. Towards the end I also met the COO. It was a very informal conversation discussing everything from the resume to my skill set. They offered me another interview and told me there would be a presentation piece. I got the necessary documents to work out the presentation. Even though I had an entire weekend, I literally only devoted myself to the presentation process, as it required a lot of additional digging and certain specifics were not given to me. For the actual second interview/presentation, I was given a half a day. Came in on time, was taken into a room. Several people interviewed me, including the head of the dept and then three people who would be peers of mine. All three were very young, but seemed to have great experience. Mixed feelings about that interview. Felt it would have been more appropriated to be interviewed mostly by more senior staff, with some of the peers pitching in. One of the interviewers kept on yawning throughout. Others were polite and interested. No real CAR/STAR format. Mostly taking through resume and experience, skill set, some questions were structured to get more info about any special instances in my career so far. I did my presentation at the end to the three peers, took some questions. Explained my thinking process, discussed insights I gleaned from what I was given. I believe I did well on the presentation piece. I thought I did well (not super awesome, but very well) and that I was quite a fit. But I felt that there was something not being said. Someting I couldn't place my finger on. Like there was no need for me to be there - either the position was no longer available or I wasn't being considered anymore. Have not heard a peep since then - not even a decline. I feel this is rude and should not happen. I also felt it was odd that I had to fill out a paper that discussed my age - that's illegal in Canada! Background checks happen only after one gets the offer from the company - conditional in case you have something bad in your past. Maybe the salary part was a bit over the range, I don't know. But someone should have contacted me to let me know they are no longer interested in me. I rated the interview difficult only because I had spent two days prepping for the presentation!

Very good interview, with good approaches and good explanation of a role and company. Had a case which was cery difficult, and with not lot time to answer. I'm not sure that was very necessary a ruge case like that one. It could be more easier and smooth.
