Brilliant screener, then the Hiring Manager interview was a little awkward (I was nervous) but we agreed to progress to a F2F panel. Got a very good impression of the team and the HR function.
Then, out of nowhere my application was cancelled by an unnamed member of the leadership team citing the distance between my home and the office. This was not raised as an issue at the earlier stages, and I had evidence on my CV of hybrid working for 3+ years in the same location.
Obviously, it is fine for hiring teams to change their mind mid-process, but the way the application was pulled without any warning, and no chance to discuss it was inconsiderate to say the least. For all they know I was in the process of moving closer, or had identified accommodation for the couple of nights a week required.
