After a short pleasant interview with the HR recruiter, I was interviewed by my potential supervisor. He wasn't as pleasant as the recruiter and it felt like he shut me down on purpose. I had told him that I barely have knowledge on Dutch national law because my program focuses on comparative international law, but he kept testing me on national legislation. This is while the vacancy never stipulated any requirements on knowledge about Dutch national law.
