I think my negative experience is in line with what others experienced. I was asked to do a long assignment before a phone interview. I did it and was called in for an interview.
I work for a similar (perhaps more successful) tech company that has the same seed investors as Zola. But the difference between the quality and caliber of my company to Zola is incredible - Zola is lightyears behind.
The interviewer had clearly never undergone any sort of interview training, didn't have a copy of my resume, and never smiled or engaged me as a human. She looked me up and down when she came to greet me in the lobby and of course, never answered my thank you note or updated me on the search at all.
Zola simply didn't seem like a pleasant place to work and overall dissuaded me from even using the product, if these are the people behind it.
