My experience with applying to Zendesk was really bad I decided not to push through with my application. I was referred as a Systems Engineer by a friend of mine in their Manila site and I got scheduled for a Skype interview since their HR was in India. Fast forward to the interview, it took us a few minutes before I was able to connect with the HR via Skype because apparently, she was trying to contact me through Skype for Business. When we finally got to talk, she rudely asked for an explanation why "I wasn't prepared", putting the blame of wasted time on me. I tried to explain to her why despite my disappointment with her tone and her trying to pass the blame to me. I have had Skype interviews in the past and all the recruiters I talked with before did know the difference of Skype personal and for business accounts. They all made use of a personal Skype account; they understood that a job applicant most likely will not have access to a Skype for Business account. She then went to ask me what made me want the job. I told her I still needed to get the complete job description from her since she did not send me the job details prior to scheduling the interview, hence not giving me the time to assess whether or not I would like the job. She got really sarcastic, questioned my incompetence and non-professionalism, and lectured me on proper "ethics" when applying. Instead of pointing out that it was really her fault, I just went with the conversation until it ended with the usual "well get back to you" conversation-ender. The following day, I received a feedback from my referrer that I passed the HR interview and will be scheduled for a technical interview but I politely cancelled my application citing personal reasons. This is the worst experience I ever had with any recruiter. Never will I ever apply to this company again.
