Before anything; they didn't bother to tell me they were a Mac shop. So beware. I find it bizarre that you wouldn't even bother to mention it to your technical staff. The first I found out is after they spent a significant amount flying me out.
Furthermore this company really seems to have problems making decisions. They had me talk with everyone and their brother. 12 interviews in all. Hours upon hours. The sad part is that I had the hiring manager and allegedly the CFO on my side only to have an offer come in that was shall we say; less than tempting.
The questions were numerous and not very well thought out. In many cases I felt like they were looking for a specific answer from a specific school of thought, rather than my philosophy in a manner. The technical questions were fairly broad and easy to understand and answer.
The fact is this company is very disorganized and honestly doesn't seem to make good decisions. This is evidenced by the fact that they would spend so much time with me, only to endanger their investment with an offer that really had nothing going for it from my side.
Why would I leave a good (albeit unsatisfying) job, to come work for you on a temp basis?
If you have such a high opinion of yourself; don't. It represents a significant risk to pack up and move around for any company, not to think of a company of 200 that didn't exist 5 years ago. Why exactly would I move for no benefit whatsoever?
You're not doing me a favor letting me work for you.
