I applied via their website. I was contacted by a Talend Acquisition Partner and directly set a technical interview for 1 hr. I had no idea what the interview would be about, they mentioned that there might be some coding involved.

The interview covered core TypeScript fundamentals like types, interfaces, and generics, and involved a live coding challenge to convert JavaScript code to TypeScript, emphasizing immutability and conditional updates. I didn't have an HR interview and wasn’t prepared for the coding part because I assumed HR would at least be a small chat; however, the session turned highly technical. In the end, I was bluntly rejected, with feedback that my ideas didn’t matter—only the final answer did—leaving me truly puzzled.
