1. Presentation of your work followed by series of interviews. These interviews are mostly based on Machine Learning understanding, Probability, Stat, Programming ability, puzzles, your experience in real world modelling
2. Data structures and Algorithms are must
3. Publications (optional)
4. Previous experience (optional)
5. Better chance if you are from IISC, IITs

Entretien
This was part of campus recruitment. I was selected in the extended list. First interviewer stated with tell me about yourself and your interests. There were three rounds of interview with total time spent in the interviews would be around 3 hrs.
The first interviewer went into detailed questions regarding my projects what I did and the maths behind it.
The second interview was totally based on ML concept's and the maths behind them.
The third interview was based on signal processing with questions related to LTI systems, images, autocorrelation, estimation theory.
