      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 3 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez Xero (Auckland, ) en janv. 2020

      Entretien

I was approached by a XERO recruiter as a role in one of their technical teams had come up. They messaged me and we set up a time to meet for a coffee. I got good vibes from XERO straight away. They were so friendly and nothing was too difficult. We met that week and chatted about the role, the team and XERO generally. We decided it sounded like a good fit and they wanted to interview. XERO were clear about the process and what to expect in the interview. One of the things that really stood out for me was the fact XERO had reached out directly to discuss the role. I had only just started to tentatively look into the market and was engaged almost immediately by them about an opportunity that was aligned with my background and experience. I could tell within the first few minutes of our chat that this wasn’t just a coincidence and that XERO had done their due diligence and research into why I could add value to this role, which I found very comforting. I’m not sure what kind of the sourcery goes on behind the scenes in the world of recruitment but this was certainly very impressive! Setting the interview up and having XERO provide me with everything I needed to know about the interview was really really easy. Not sure why other companies don’t use the system XERO does but it stemmed from a texted link their recruiter sent me where I could choose the time of the interview myself and I received instructions of exactly where to go, who to ask for, illustrated profiles of the interview panel and the format the interview would take with some pointers with regard to what the panel would focus on. I got a copy of the position description and information about all their benefits directly in my inbox there and then. There was also a section on the link which asked for any questions I'd like the panel to answer for me at the interview which was a nice idea! Better still, their system automatically booked me a car park and when I arrived, front of house gave me the coffee which I’d ordered on their link. After the first interview I was still able to login and see a status of where I was at in the process and when I would get an update on the next step. Great start XERO! I met with someone from the team I'd be working in and the manager, I felt like they understood my skills and also what was important to me as a prospective employee. They had taken time to research my experience and how this would be an ideal move and I already felt valued. They were honest about the role and where the business was at and didn’t try to ‘sell me the dream’. Knowing upfront what I was in for made me even more excited to work for such a genuine company. Because I was given so much information beforehand to research and prepare for the interview I felt really prepared and comfortable, so nothing in the interview came as too much of a surprise. The interview questions were fair and appropriate to the role and the interviewee had a good understanding of my background. The process took 2 weeks all up from being contacted and interviewed and receiving feedback, this process flowed really well due to the prompts and being able to book through the system. Although I didn't get an offer, it was such an awesome experience I just wanted to share it with the world!
