The interview was very technical. I met with the manager of the database team and the manager of the application development team. The entire interview was a whiteboard exercise where they would ask you to write code to solve a business problem.

      Entretien

After sending in my application, I was sent a questionnaire regarding my skills in software, both generally and specifically to the tech stack I applied for. There was then an initial screening with a recruiter, probably only about 20-30 minutes. I was then sent a take-home coding challenge, which was not incredibly challenging, but gave me the chance to show my problem solving skills. Once reviewed, I was asked to give some dates for a virtual on-site, where there would be three interviews: technical, pair programming, and values. They offered to split those over two days, which I did. The technical interview was for asking more general questions about my software background, technologies I've worked with, etc. They also told me some about their stack, and development philosophies, and we got to dialog about that some. The pair-programming interview was very enjoyable. This was very code-centric, and allowed me to problem solve in front of a senior engineer. It was honestly a great learning experience too. It seemed less about specific knowledge and more about communication. The values interview was standard; lots of "tell me about a time" questions. Both of the interviewers were incredible kind and very laid back. Honestly, this goes for every interview, but I think it matters the most for this one. It only took a day or two for the offer to come in after the last interview. Overall, I thought this experience was really great. I'd been interviewing with many startups for a couple of months, and it was refreshing to have a more standard interview process.

      Entretien

Interview at St. Louis, MO. Started with a HR screening interview, followed by a code challenge. Finished the code challenge and sent back for review. After review, invited for onsite interview. It took around 3 hours. First hour was moreover introducing about their benefits and walk through the offices. I like about the benefit summary however I didn't like the tour to their building because I made my time available for the interview from my work schedule and without making any decision on my candidature they are taking me to the tour which I believe is a waste of time. Second hour was a technical interview asking about the previous projects and experience. Then gave an algorithm coding challenge to validate a string. I answered almost all the questions including the algorithm coding challenge. Third hour was a pair programming and they have a set of unit test cases tied to some functionalities. I was able to progress with the pair programming. I would say almost 90% unit test cases I was able to complete. My pair programmer was also having a good impression. Overall the interview seems easy however after so many followups I got a response from HR saying they are not going to proceed with my candidature for the specified position and would like to proceed for another open position based on my skill. After one more follow up I got a response saying the position is no more active. The usual HR game with Job seekers. At last a message saying 'Wish you good luck in your search' I see few other interview reviews with same experience and same happened to me. Completely waste of time doing the coding challenge, attending onsite interview, a wasteful tour, pair programming. Please make a process for interview which is out of box.

Thanks and sorry if we dropped the ball here. If a candidate isn't a fit (or we already have someone selected) for a specific position, we may try and see where else they could be a fit. We feel the tour of our facility is important in respect to transparency for candidates. I'm sorry you didn't find it useful. Best of luck to you and thank you again.
