This is my experience applying to the Oakland retail location in Jack London Square. Applications are online only. I sent one in on a whim, did not follow up and then received a call 1-2 weeks later to set up an interview. Had a one on one interview with a lower level manager. Friendly, casual, the interview was held on the sales floor in the dining furniture section. She let me know at the end that she would set up another interview with a general manager. (2 rounds of interviews for a seasonal position??!) They called to set this up maybe another week later. Second interview was one on one and very similar to the first and probably even shorter, at the end he told me he wanted to hire me and someone would call me to follow up which also happened maybe a week or five days later. They have a strong focus on customer service and problem solving to keep customers happy (and making sure they're buying stuff and coming back!) so most questions concerned my customer service experiences and working in a team. Both times I had a great impression of the store because both interviewers were young, professional and hip and everyone I spoke with in the store was friendly to me and with each other. It has proved to be a very warm and friendly place to work. Before giving me an official job offer they ran a background check but there was no drug test.

I applied for the job online and got a call from the hiring manager, I think the same day. The call was basically an interview for about 10 mins, and then they said they would call me back later. When they called me back soon after, they told me I had gotten the job.
