Very tedious. Kept asking the same questions over and over again. I wondered if they thought I might be caught in a lie and would change my story. The biggest kicker in all of this is their emphasis in a collaborative process review of the interview process but by the time I got to my car, they had already sent a rejection email. So much for the collaborative process.

From application to the day the pre-employment screening was complete, the process took a little over a month. Wegmans definitely does their due diligence with evaluating external management candidates, which made me feel good that they hold their brand and their people in such high esteem. It was an extensive interview process, but every step of the way— the team was very communicative, professional, and just plain nice. Only made me more excited for the position! After applying online, I was contacted by a recruiter within 24 hours to schedule a telephone interview. The phone interview was about 30 minutes and ranged from HR-centric questions to confirm eligibility, and open ended questions that provided opportunity to discuss various customer and team leadership experience scenarios. I was invited to come in for a face-to-face interview with the reporting manager and an HR rep. This lasted 90 minutes and the questions went much more in depth with leadership scenarios, my own leadership style, and qualitative traits such as how we deal with stressful situations or ambiguity. After this, I was invited back to meet with the store manager for a 3rd interview. This was a little more relaxed and those questions seemed more to get to know me as a person and to further evaluate if I’d fit in with the store and with Wegmans culture. I received an offer the next day which was contingent on a drug screen and background check. It took about a week for them to process the drug test and background info,.

The interview lasted 30-40 minutes. Their were 2 interviewers in the room, reading interview questions off the computer. They ask basic questions, job related, company related. Be prepared to know something about Wegmans. Dress professional and bring a folder with your resume as well. Also ask them questions job related.
