      Entretien

Initially, you have to fill in a fairly extensive application form with lots of questions such as 'What do you hope to gain from this placement?' and 'What do you think is your greatest achievement to date?' I did not hear back for 2 months (I applied in November, and received a response in January.) Following this, there was a one-way video interview (pre-recorded questions) that could be completed any time within 3 days. This included questions such as 'what is your favourite Warner Bros film and why?' 'why Warner Bros?' and 'What are your strengths and weaknesses?' Which only took a total of 15 minutes to complete. There were six questions. Within a couple of days, I heard that I had got a place at the assessment centre. There were 14 of us being assessed for this particular role, and the dress code was smart (boys in suits, girls in dresses/ smart skirt/ smart trousers - a cardigan was fine, no need for a blazer). One of the assessors said it is good to wear something that will make you stand out, ie don't wear all black. The assessment day is split into two sections, and I was sent home at lunch time (only four people made it to the afternoon session). It was VERY relaxed and welcoming there, and even as someone who finds these situations nerve-wracking, I was definitely put at ease by how friendly the recruiters were. We had two presentation style activities to complete. The first was an 'ice-breaker' where we got in pairs and played 'two truths and a lie' as well as learning a little about the person next to you. The second was an activity where we had to choose from a pool of celebrities over who we want to promote a new film coming out. (30 mins prep time in a group of 4/5). In between these two activities, we had a presentation from the recruiter/ current placement student which was followed by a Q&A (make sure to ask a question!) After this, we had a buffet lunch (which was yummy!) and had time to mingle with the assessors and other people from within the department. I really want to stress that this part is important - if you ever find yourself sitting by yourself then make sure to get up and mingle with the current employees. This will make you look proactive and interested in learning more. I believe the afternoon session included an 'individual exercise' (I think this may have been some sort of excel/ personality test by the sounds of it) and also individual interviews. I cannot be sure though, as I was obviously sent home after lunch. Definitely don't be too cocky (or equally not too quiet) - pretty much just be yourself and if you happen to be what they're looking for then great! If not, don't take it personally- many people who I thought performed well were also unsuccessful so it is really hard to tell exactly what they're looking for. Don't try and put on a show. Overall it was a really enjoyable morning/ lunch and I would recommend just being relaxed and enjoying the activities - then it just seems like an added bonus if you do happen to get through :)

The initial application process itself is quite lengthy - included questions like, "What is your favourite WB character and why?" and "Why this role?". I applied in November and heard back in January where I was invited to complete an automated video interview which consisted of questions appearing on screen and you have 1 minute to answer them, I believe there were 5-6 questions. 1 day after I submitted my video interview, I was invited to the assessment day in London. The assessment day consisted of 13 candidates including myself and it was split into 2 sections; a morning session and an afternoon session where they shortlist the candidates and send others home at lunch time. The morning session consisted of an ice breaker challenge where you work in pairs, 2 group activities and speed interviews which individual assessors where you had 3 minutes with each assessor. After lunchtime, they shortlisted me within the final 5 candidates and we had an individual task which was an 'eye for detail' test and then a 2-to-1 interview with the recruiters. I received a phone call 2 days later saying that they have picked another candidate - I asked why I wasn't successful and they said there were no reasons but they just picked someone else which I don't particularly understand as there must be a reason why I didn't get the position but it is what it is.
