J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 4 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez Waffle House (Greenville, SC) en août 2012
Entretien
The hiring process was lengthy. It involved a one and one half hour meeting with a Waffle House district manager. After that, it involved three days of work. Day one was from 6:30 AM until 4:30 PM and from 8:30 PM until 9:30 PM. There was no lunch break during the day (11 hour day).
Day two was from 6:30 AM until 3:00 PM & from 8:30 PM until 9:30 PM. There was no lunch break during the day (9.5 hours)
Day three was from 5:15 AM until 3:00 PM and again from 8:30 PM until 9:30 PM. There was no lunch break during the day (10.45 hours)
The managers mostly impressed me and spent hours with me talking about the position during these past three days. They told me that I will work all the time if I want to succeed as a Waffle House manager, working at least 55 hours a week on a six day on, six day off rotation.
At the end of the interview, I was offered the position of unit manager trainee at an annual salary of $30,000/year for approximately 12-14 weeks. This position leads to the position of unit manager with a salary floor of $38,200/year with the average unit manager making $42,000 annually. It seems that highly motivated people can make more than $42,000k as a unit manager.
I was told that my manager wants me to stay in the position of unit manager for two Christmas holidays before a promotion to district manager. The career progression for this position goes
Unit Manager Trainee (~30k) --> Unit Manager (~42k+) --> District manager (~65k+) --> Division Manager (80k+)
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
No questions were difficult or unexpected. The work was difficult and the training was difficult as managers were constantly watching how quickly I could pick up new processes and complete tasks.

Initial application was met with a recruiter who went over the job description and talked about my credentials. I then had an interview person interview with 2 division managers (location I applied for was already filled but they still wanted me to interview as I was open to traveling outside of my city). Had to take the management assessment After that, another in person interview with the area manger. Was asked to come in that weekend for the 2 day In Unit the same day of my interview with the area manager. During the in unit shifts, you really get an understanding of how Waffle House operates! HR manager followed up that Monday and explained the steps to the contingent offer (background and drug test) and a formal offer comes next.

I found that the interview was an extremely pleasant process. Once it got going, from what I can tell, it’s going to end up being an incredible experience. I still am going this weekend to do the two days of essentially seeing if the job is something that I’ll want to continue forward with the company. I also have to submit to a hair follicle test and background check. None of these will be an issue so I’m not worried about it. I have not received an offer yet. However, that will be what we discussed after these two days. It did not give me the option to add that as an answer to the below question. I’m hopeful that things will go quite well, and I’ll be a great fit with the company.
