My engagement with Vowel started with a few folks reaching out via Linkedin, email, and eventually text message. They were a bit over friendly and insincere. Eventually an interview was setup. I was under the impression, like another reviewer mentioned, that this would be an introduction to the company and team. I was not given an agenda. Unfortunately, I was caught off guard and given a technical assessment with hardly a chance to even introduce myself. I struggled in areas that I wasn't qualified for, but succeeded in others. Had I been given an agenda, I would've known to not waste each other's time and informed them this role was not a good fit. Predictably, when I asked them about next steps, I was ignored and never received a response. My feelings about their insincerity were confirmed; they were only friendly because I was still of use to them. Once I wasn't, not a shred of decency.
