      Entretien pour Project Planner/Sales

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Vivax Pros (Denver, CO) en mai 2018

      Entretien

Quite unusual, I was almost embarrassed to tell close friends about this 'interview'. I applied on a weekend, received an email from a Vivax recruiter that I was invited to an 'informational meeting' prior to the first set of interviews. She ensured me that this was for the candidate's benefit to learn more about the position and the company before proceeding with the next step interview process. The meeting was led by two sales managers (we were told VP of Sales and HR would lead the meeting), who touted Vivax Pros as the best company to work for and how great the culture was. I bought in, and it seems like a growing company with good ethics with unlimited growth potential. The odd part was there were five other candidates in the same room, many of whom I thought were extremely under qualified based on how they introduced themselves. After the 30 minute meeting, we all toured the office together, and I thought we looked like rabbits chasing a hanging carrot held by the sales managers. Some candidates wore sneakers, asked ridiculous questions and most had no experience in the home remodeling industry. I had owned a remodeling company for 12+ years and thought I would have been an excellent candidate. We were all told that the HR recruiter would get back to us in a week to come in for second set of interviews. I did not hear back so I sent a follow up email to the HR contact who said it was 'so great to meet me' (we never met) but they have decided to hire another candidate for the position (they said there were three openings, and position is listed on many other job sites). The 'project planner' is the person who provides the estimates, but seems to be very heavy on sales and commissions. Weekends, evenings and multiple sales meetings every month are required. I read many similar reviews on Glassdoor regarding this strange and unique process at Vivax. At first, I thought it was refreshing that the company was 'thinking outside the box', but now I feel that the company had just lied and misled us and I would not consider working for a company like this. Almost everybody in the office were in their 20s/30s, so maybe the fact that I am north of 40 with 20 years of experience eliminated me? I have no idea, and really did not get a chance to meet anybody one on one. Very discouraging and a waste of my time!

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your experience, and for any confusion on how our interview process works. It is certainly true that the way we do things isn't for everyone--which is why we like to offer our candidates these casual informational meetings first, to get an inside look before determining if we are a team that you're interested in pursuing the 1-1 interview process with. If it was not made clear to you that we do not invite back every single candidate for the 1-1 process, I do apologize. As a discerning candidate, I am glad that you were able to determine that this wasn't for you right away, as not wasting people's time is my top concern! Please feel free to contact me directly if you'd like to discuss further or to have me clear anything else up for you. Thank you again for your feedback. -Marni Caicedo, Head of Recruitment -marni@vivaxpros.com
