I’ve had some pretty bad interviews in the past, but this one is up there as one of the most unethical ones I’ve had. The team was pleasant, but the process was all red flags.
It entire process took over a month and the title changed twice during. The job posting says director, but they offered a senior manager role. The old bait and switch - bring in director-level talent and then offer a lower title and pay to see if they’ll accept. I understand we all have to reduce cash burn at the moment, but wow, just wow. Not to mention I spent time presenting and meeting with their team, which was just a waste since I had told them beforehand I would not be accepting a manager role. Yet they still had be put together a deck and present to the team for a possible director role.
The job posting as a director is still up and collecting candidates as well. This really changed my perspective of Vimeo as a possible employer now or in the future.
